This site reviews the available information on earth heritage in the Netherlands.
Because many people are unaware of the idea of earth heritage, or geoheritage, the opportunities presented by
geomorphological phenomena in the landscape are often left largely unexploited. We hope to bring these opportunities to light by illustrating
geological and geomorphological features and making information about them more accessible.
This site is intended for anyone with an interest in the subject of earth heritage. Specifically, the site is aimed at planners,
landscape architects, government decision-makers, policy officers and land managers; in short, anyone involved in spatial planning and
development where geological or geomorphological heritage plays a role (or could play a role). Our aim is to raise awareness about earth
heritage and by doing so enable informed and considered decision-making.
